Coded welding is a way to officially test and certify your welding skills to industry standards. This course lets experienced welders demonstrate with hands-on testing in a professional workshop environment, you’ll demonstrate your skills to current industry standards and strengthen your employability in high-demand sectors.   • Built for experienced welders, this course is ideal for those holding previous coded welding certificates who want to renew, upgrade, or expand their qualifications.

  • This course is not suitable for those who are pregnant or have a pace maker fitted
  • Contact lenses must not be worn (glasses are acceptable)

Test Pieces

 Candidates can choose to complete one, two, or three test pieces, (tee fillet/butt weld/Lap Joint) or opt for the 6G pipe test, depending on their certification needs. All tests are carried out to BS EN ISO 9606-1 standards. If you require testing to a different welding code or have a specific qualification in mind, please contact our office and the team will be happy to discuss your requirements and provide a tailored quote.

Schedule & Duration:

  • 8:30am-4pm (Breaks included)

Training days can be selected to suit your needs. If it has been some time since your last test, you are welcome to book a half-day assessment, during which our tutors will assess your skills and advise on the most suitable training option for you. Test Day will take place on a Friday, so you have the full week to prep if you feel its necessary.

Equipment & Facilities

All materials, welding machines, and PPE are provided as part of the course. To ensure everything is prepared in advance, we must be informed of the welding process, test pieces, and certification requirements you intend to complete. If you decide to add additional tests or change your requirements, please let us know before your course date, as changes made on the day may incur an additional charge and preparation.

You will have access to:

  • Kitchen facilities (fridge, microwave etc.)
  • Free tea & coffee
  • Parking - Road and onsite

Candidates are welcome to bring their own welding equipment and PPE. However, please note that full responsibility for any loss or damage remains with the candidate. We cannot accept liability for personal equipment brought onto site.
