What do we offer?

A course to introduce you to the bricklaying trade and teach you all the basic skills through hands-on bricklaying training. In our approved training centre, you will gain experience in all aspects of bricklaying and rendering, ensuring you can start and finish bricklaying work the correct way, without paying a significant amount of money to a bricklaying tradesperson. This course will teach you the basic techniques, covering basics such as laying bricks, mixing mortar and constructing well-built, simple structures.

As training providers, the most important thing for us is that, by the end of the course, we will have built your confidence to start doing your own work. Here at CBWA, we employ only the best tutors: friendly, time-served, and professional tradespeople who have decades of trade experience. Therefore, our tutors have up-to-date industry knowledge and lots of experience in training people. The course has a maximum of 10 students at a time so that each student gets enough guidance and tuition from our tutors, and therefore you will complete the course with all of the required knowledge and understanding. It allows you to ask questions on your mind and get plenty of one-to-one instruction throughout the course.

This course will ultimately help you choose if you want to continue towards a bricklaying career, finding a job in the trade or even by creating your own business.

Course Content

Schedule & Duration:

Five days in a single week (9:00am – 4:30pm, breaks included)
2 consecutive weekends (8:30am – 5:30pm, breaks included)

Equipment & Facilities

We provide you with your own work area & equipment (gear & tools included except safety boots which you need, can bring your own tools if preferred)

You will have access to:

Kitchen facilities (fridge, microwave etc.)
Free tea & coffee
On-site vending machines
Parking

Moreover, we are located in CV7 9NH, just off the M6 motorway and close to several food places and hotels nearby.

What happens after?

Upon completion of the course, we offer an in-house Certificate of Competence from our approved training centre. If you choose to pursue a career path in bricklaying, following your course, you will need a CSCS card to have access and work on a building site. To obtain a CSCS card, you must pass the Health & Safety CSCS test.

For CSCS card training, and Health & Safety courses for CSCS, feel free to check out our 1 Day Site Safety Course (CSCS test incl.). However, for pursuing a career in bricklaying right from the very beginning, we would instead recommend hopping on our Level 2 Bricklaying Course, which goes in depth to the theoretical side of bricklaying, giving you more valuable knowledge of the trade as a whole, alongside loads of practical experience! The Level 1 Bricklaying course is also a great option, as it goes in depth to the more advanced side of bricklaying, however it remains beginner-friendly and accessible to working adults due to lasting only 10 days, which is plenty of time to gain deeper knowledge of the trade, alongside loads of practical experience!

In your own bricklaying work area, you will be trained by a time-served, experienced bricklayer, who will build your confidence and provide you with the professional skills and knowledge that will enable you to give a high-end, confident finish to any of your domestic bricklaying jobs, or even give you a starting insight into a bricklaying career.
